A heartbreaking incident occurred at WakeMed Raleigh Campus on Friday, April 18, 2025, when a hospital staff member reportedly died by suicide after jumping from the fifth floor of the facility’s parking deck.

Emergency responders and multiple law enforcement agencies were dispatched to the hospital, located at 3000 New Bern Avenue, after receiving a report of a body found on the premises. Upon arrival, authorities confirmed the tragic death and immediately secured the area.

An investigation is currently underway to gather more details surrounding the incident. WakeMed officials have yet to release the identity of the individual involved.
