Thomas Zaldivar Atascadero, CA Death – Thomas Zaldivar Obituary – Thomas Bradley Zaldivar, Chef/Barista at Bru Coffeehouse Dies

It is with deep sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Thomas Bradley Zaldivar of Atascadero, California. A man of many talents and an even bigger heart, Thomas wore many hats in his life — Chef, Barista, Worship Pastor, Music Director, and devoted community member — each with passion, purpose, and grace. He passed away in Atascadero, the town he loved and called home for his entire life.

Thomas’s warmth and spirit touched every corner of his community. As a Chef and Barista at Bru Coffeehouse, he was a friendly, familiar face who welcomed customers not just with excellent coffee and delicious food, but with genuine conversation and connection.

Whether it was your first time stopping in or your hundredth, Thomas made you feel like family. His creativity in the kitchen and behind the barista counter was matched only by his deep commitment to making people feel seen, heard, and cared for.

In addition to his culinary work, Thomas brought his faith and musical talent to the forefront as Worship Pastor and Music Director at Berean Bible Fellowship. He led with authenticity and heart, guiding others into meaningful worship experiences.

Music was more than a gift for Thomas — it was a ministry and a way to bring hope and joy to those around him. His voice, his guitar, and his humble leadership style left a lasting impact on the church community and all who worshiped alongside him.

Thomas was also involved in the broader faith community through his work with Grace Central Coast – North County Campus, where he continued to share his love for ministry, music, and mentorship.

His dedication to serving others extended into his professional life as well, with roles at both Sempra Energy and SoCalGas. His work ethic was unmatched, and his colleagues remember him as a dependable, positive presence — someone you could always count on, both on and off the clock.

A proud graduate of Atascadero High School, Thomas stayed rooted in his hometown, going on to study at Cuesta College. He poured his life into the very place that shaped him, never seeking recognition, but always striving to give back more than he received.

To know Thomas was to know a man who loved deeply — his family, his friends, his faith, his music, and his community. He had a heart for people, a gift for making others feel valued, and a calm, grounded presence that made even the hardest days feel manageable. His laugh, his kindness, and his sincerity will be remembered by all who had the joy of knowing him.

Thomas Bradley Zaldivar leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and creative passion that will be remembered by many. His sudden loss is felt deeply, and the hole he leaves behind will not soon be filled. A memorial service will be announced in the coming days, where friends, family, and community members will come together to honor and celebrate his life.

As we grieve, we also give thanks — for the time we had with Thomas, for the memories he gave us, and for the example of a life well-lived in the service of others. Rest in peace, Thomas. You were a light in this world, and your light will never go out.
